About David Nelson
David Nelson records a wide range of English‑language voice work from his treated home studio. He delivers narration for audiobooks and museum guides, and provides character voices for video‑games and cartoons. His baritone and tenor range serves both young‑adult and middle‑age characters, and he has supplied commercial spots and corporate‑video narration for clients such as the Association for Computing Machinery, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Ethertronics, Hatchet Audio, TICO and the University of Connecticut.
Nelson’s setup includes an isolation booth with a Neumann TLM‑103 microphone (an AKG C214 is also available), a Steinberg UR22 mkII audio interface and Reaper as his digital audio workstation. He uses Shure SE215 headphones for tracking and Sony MDR‑Z7 headphones for editing, supported by iZotope processing tools. His recent work includes a telephone/IVR recording for the University of Connecticut and a documentary voice‑over for the University of Penn.
